Built out of BMW’s Munich plant, we expect 2025 M3 dealership deliveries starting July 2024. Pricing as follows (excluding the $1,175 destination & handling charge):
- 2025 BMW M3: $76,000
- 2025 BMW M3 Competition: $80,200
- 2025 BMW M3 Competition with M xDrive: $85,300
For those track days, the all-wheel drive M3 Competition (with M xDrive) has always benefited from a rear-wheel bias setup. For 2025, BMW gave it a power hike of 20 hp compared to the outgoing 2024 M3 Competition xDrive specs, now putting down 523 horsepower at 6,250 rpm.
All courtesy of an upgraded engine borrowed from the stellar BMW M4 GT3, propelling the regular M3 Competition with all-wheel drive from 0 to 60 mph in only 3.4 seconds; plus, peak torque of 479 lb-ft between 2,750 and 5,730 rpm which is now increased for a wider power band.
Three levels of power output from the same M TwinPower Turbo
The same base S58B30T0 engine powers all three 2025 M3 variants – a high-revving straight-six mil with M TwinPower Turbo technology, each with their own output levels:
- Standard: 473 hp with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
- Competition: 503 hp with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission.
- Competition with M xDrive: 523 hp at 6,250 rpm.
The electronically limited top speed of 155 mph comes standard on all three, but that number increases to 180 mph with the optional M Driver’s Package.
More than just a power hike
Power aside, the German tweaked its high-performance 3 Series with a lengthy list of chassis and handling upgrades. Features include a specialized cooling system for track performance, a fully variable Active M Differential for enhanced agility, and selectable 4WD, 4WD Sport, and 2WD modes. Other upgrades of note include:

The styling of the new BMW M3 features newly designed forged M alloy wheels (Style 825M) in a bright silver finish, striking that balance between sportiness and sophistication.
At the front, the redesigned LED headlights consolidate low and high beam into a single module, accented by two sculpted, arrow-shaped vertical LED units that function as daytime running lights and turn signals.
Optional M Shadowline lights with dark inner accents add a bold touch, while the trunk lid badge on the Competition models is highlighted with a sleek silver border, sharpening the M3’s visual character.
A Cleaner 2025 M3 Interior Design with New Features and Latest Operating System
Fewer buttons and new menus
Overall, BMW managed to reduce the number of buttons and control inside the new 2025 M3 for a cleaner look. The instrument panel gets a new design including new adjustment controls for air vent grilles with rotating and tilting movements.
No more fiddling to find temperature, ventilation, seat heating, and steering wheel heating access thanks to a dedicated menu option. Plus, 2025 also offers more simplified operation via touch or voice command.
New 3-Spoke Steering Wheel and Premium M Touches
The 2025 BMW M3 cabin also features a newly designed three-spoke M leather steering wheel, equipped with multifunction buttons and a red center marker at the 12 o’clock position.
The flat-bottomed rim and revised spokes enhance the sporty feel, while an optional M Alcantara steering wheel offers the same design and functionality, available as a standalone option or as part of the Carbon Package.
An optional HUD (head up display) includes a multicolored tachometer, shift indicator lights, and M View.
Inside, the sportier and more luxe M-specific design features set this sports sedan apart from its less deserving, non-M 3 Series siblings. Standard interior trim elements include Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite on the instrument panel, control panel, and cup holder cover.

This system includes a high-resolution BMW Curved Display, angled towards the driver, comprising a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inch control display also seen in the hybrid-powered 330e, splashing M-specific content and detailed vehicle status information across the screen.
