Rolex has announced its latest time-telling offerings at the 2024 Watches & Wonders in Geneva. The unveiling features a total of six models spanning icons such as the GMT-Master II, Day-Date, Perpetual 1908, Deepsea, Daytona and Sky-Dweller in various builds and sizes. GMT‑Master II
This new GMT-Master II marks the first time Rolex outfits the model with black ceramic and gray Cerachrom insert for the bezel. Complementing this understated bezel is a tonal dial that’s dressed in black. Chromalight-coated white gold indices harmoniously echo its sleek, 40mm Oystersteel watch case, the GMT hand subtly accents the watch face in a lush green hue.
In terms of technical specifications, the reference runs on the 70-hours-power-reserve 3275 caliber — a COSC chronometer-certified movement providing the essential time-reading, complete with date and GMT functions. Retailing from $10,700 – $10,900 USD, the new GMT-Master II comes with the option of an Oyster or Jubilee metal bracelet.
Day‑Date
Those who paid close attention at this year’s Oscars will find this Everose gold Day-Date 40 with a slate ombré dial familiar. Yes, this is the exact model that the brand teased at the end of its special video at the Academy Awards. In addition to this reference, Rolex has also unveiled three more variants: 40mm White Gold with mother-of-pearl dial, 36mm yellow gold with white dial as well as a 36mm Everose gold and diamonds version with a blue-green dial.
Perpetual 1908
Last year, Rolex released the Perpetual 1908 in 18k yellow or white gold build with a choice of black or white colored dials. This time, the Maison reimagines the reference with a refreshing palette, while in-keeping with the silhouette’s historic codes and contemporary elegance. Encased in 950 platinum, the timepiece stars a rice-grain pattern that imbues its ice blue dial with a rosette-esque visual effect.
Inside the 39mm slim case and viewable from its transparent caseback, the in-house 7140 caliber powers the timepiece with 66 hours of continuous running time. Priced at 29,600 CHF (around $32,768 USD), the new Perpetual 1908 is paired with a brown or black alligator strap that’s lined with green calfskin and fastened with a platinum double folding Dualclasp.
Deepsea
Exuding majestic appeal, this new Rolex Deepsea comes in a gleaming 18k yellow gold with a tonal dial and bezel in a radiant blue. A blue ceramic compression ring is integrated into the watch face, which forms its impressive Ringlock system to ensure the reference’s capability to withstand extreme pressure as far down as 3,900 meters in the sea. An RLX titanium helium escape valve can be spotted on the side of the case, which adds a layer of protection for the timepiece when diving at great depths, all without compromising its waterproofness. Accompanied by a matching yellow gold Oyster bracelet, the Deepsea has a retail price point of 49,900 CHF (about $55,241 USD).
Cosmograph Daytona
Four new iterations of the Cosmograph Daytona have been unveiled. Two of them arrive in 18k white gold with monochrome mother-of-pearl dials, while the other variants come in 18k Everose gold and 18k yellow gold. Offered in a 40mm case size, the time-tellers all feature hour markers and a bezel set with diamonds. Available in an Oysterflex or Oyster bracelet, the white gold versions emanate a mesmerizing appeal with mother-of-pearl subdials in a panda-style aesthetic. Meanwhile, the Everose gold and yellow gold options are paired with matching Oyster bracelets in their respective materiality, complete with diamond-set lugs.
Sky‑Dweller
Attired with a Jubilee bracelet for the first time, Rolex has prepared two new Sky-Dweller watches in this elegant and sophisticated configuration. Accented with the brand’s hallmarked fluted bezel, the timekeeper exudes a radiant and sophisticated appeal albeit in Everose gold with a slate dial or in an 18k yellow gold build that’s fitted with an intense white dial,
In terms of functionality, the Sky-Dweller provides simultaneous readings for two time zones alongside the Saros annual calendar complication. The Ring command system has also been implemented, adding a layer of convenience and user-friendliness for the wearer to easily adjust and select their desired functions.
