It has been practically a year since American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, consisting of 151 shows across five continents, commenced. That would explain a lot about why Taylor and her team may be tired, but still doesn’t explain why her otherwise courteous father Scott would assault a local photographer. Apparently, New South Wales police are investigating allegations that 71-year-old Scott Swift assaulted a member of the paparazzi, 51-year-old photographer Ben McDonald at the Neutral Bay wharf around 2:30 am on Tuesday.

The ‘Lover’ singer wrapped up her hugely successful Australia tour, and along with her father and entourage, the leggy beauty was cruising the harbor on superyacht Quantum after completing her final Australian show. The superstar lit up Down Under with seven sell-out concerts across Melbourne and Sydney. It was a well-deserved celebration aboard superyacht Quantum, except for the unpleasantness that ensued. According to McDonald, a man struck him in the face at the wharf before getting in the car and driving away. “I didn’t realize it was her dad at the time,” McDonald said, per Daily Mail. “It was a bit of a shock but I’ll leave the police to do their job.”
Images taken by the photographer helped identify the man as Scott Swift. No charges have been laid as McDonald did not require medical attention. The 34-year-old megastar jetted out of Australia on her only remaining private jet just hours after the alleged incident. That leaves us with only one topic of interest- the Quantum superyacht. Luxurylaunches is delving into the yacht that was home to one of the biggest global stars of our times albeit for a few hours-
Quantum Yacht, a thing of beauty-
Quantum Yacht is the go-to luxury vessel for corporate and special events. With the Australian leg of her Eras tour wrapped up, and an estimated 600,000 people entertained over the last two weekends, Quantum seemed like a good idea. Formerly known as Ghost II, the sleek 120-feet luxury yacht accommodates a group of 45 passengers.
The vessel sleeps 8 in four cabins, including the impressive master suite that includes a king-sized bed and ensuite in an extravagant setting. Its three decks are occupied by a dining area, lounges, and fresco dining.
The upper deck is packed with comfortable lounge seating and a BBQ for making time at sea scrumptious. Owing to neutral elements like coffee tables and side lamps soft furnishings, Quantum feels like a ship and more like a home. There are glamorous elements as well like the owner commissioned an artwork and sculptures for the dining area to continue the theme of a sophisticated yet casual boat.
Meryl Hare, principal of Hare + Klein said her team “worked towards creating a luxurious, sophisticated, refined, and layered interior in keeping with the sleek envelope of this superyacht”. “The furniture was designed to be flexible and adaptable to accommodate both private charters and larger functions while retaining the glamor and classic aesthetic.”
The boat can be hired at a price of $22,000 for 24 hours, which seems like petty cash as Swift stands to make as much as $4.1 billion from the Eras Tour, according to estimates from Peter Cohan, an associate professor of management at Babson College, stated Washington Post.
Who owns the Quantum Yacht?
Property baron Stephen Burcher, a connoisseur of properties and ships owns the luxury vessel built by Warren Yachts. In addition to Quantum he owns a stunning $15 million Tuscan-inspired mansion in Sydney suburb, Woollahra. The Managing director and CEO of Burcher Property Group made news for selling his Rose Bay home for a cool $23.5 million in 2019. He and his wife now reside in the Woollahra home.
