Rejoice: The spring 2024 collections are beginning to land in stores, and there’s so much to discuss. Now that the spring looks are making their way into our carts and even onto the street, it’s time to report on what is actually resonating in the wild because, let’s face it, not everything we loved on the runway will translate into a practical item worthy of our (already-maxed-out) closets.
We may have dissected the runways months ago, but now we’re actually observing which items are becoming popular and buzzy IRL, and we’re pleased to say that there are a number of pieces that have managed to break through as *the* ones to know. Whether it’s the pretty satin mules from Prada’s spring runway, the High Sport kick-flare pants that are the talk of every fashion Substack, or the new Bottega Veneta bag that celebrities are already carrying, the most-buzzed-about luxury items are set to define spring, if not 2024 as a whole.
Here, we’ve put together our master list of the 29 pieces that are making their mark on style right now. These are unquestionably the items that have everyone talking.
New season, new must-have Prada shoes. The satin mules that were featured on the S/S 24 runway have just now hit stores, and they’re already the talk of the town with their square toe and beautiful satin finish. While they come in black and brown, it’s Prada’s signature lime green that makes the most impact.
Bottega Veneta
Hop Large Intrecciato-Suede Shoulder Bag
Bottega Veneta’s newest bag, the Hop, is already on the arms of the A-list. Kylie Jenner brought hers to Paris for Couture Week, and Margot Robbie is also a fan. The large hobo-style shoulder bag is marked by dramatic pointed edges that give it a unique shape. Bottega has mastered the art creating handbags that are both beautiful and practical, and the Hop is the latest example of such skill.
High Sport
Long Kick Stretch-Cotton Flared Pants
There’s a singular item that’s serving as the subject of every fashion Substack, Slack message, and personal recommendation in media right now, and it’s the kick-flare trousers from High Sport. With an endless array of black trousers on the market, what makes these special, according to those who own a pair, is their sculpting fit that appears tailored but feels as comfortable as leggings.
Adidas x Wales Bonner
Pony Samba Sneaker
The impact that Adidas and Wales Bonner have had can’t be understated. The duo have been behind the buzziest sneakers all year, and their latest launch, a pair of Sambas in a leopard-print pony-hair finish, has everyone scrolling on StockX and GOAT to score a pair.
By Malene Birger
Paneled Eco-Fur Coat
I spotted Who What Wear’s associate director, Kristen, wearing this gorgeous coat in the office just last week and assumed it was a rare vintage find. The caramel hue and dainty ties make it feel so special in a sea of mob wife–informed outerwear.
Saint Laurent
Patent Leather Belt in Black
I’ve already waxed poetic about this belt too many times to count, but its minimal-logo hardware and glossy finish continue to resonate with the fashion set.
Alaïa
Le Teckel Small Leather Shoulder Bag
We’re already calling 2024 the era of elegance, and Alaïa’s latest bag is the epitome of this new chapter in style. Called Le Teckel, which means “dachshund” in French, it features an elongated shape and double top handles for a silhouette that’s reminiscent of 1950s style.
Liberowe
+ Net Sustain Duchesse Silk-Satin Peplum Jacket
Heavy satin is already shaping up to be a major 2024 trend. We’ve been reporting on satin skirts and satin shoes, but satin jackets are arguably where the pretty material hits its peak. The sumptuous fabric is perfect in this peplum-hem jacket from rising UK-based label Liberowe.
Tory Burch
Cut-Out Kitten-Heel Pump
While the Tory Burch pierced heels are the subject of much chatter, it’s these just-launched kitten heels that I’m predicting will be the next It buy from the brand. They feature an offbeat cutout at the toe that would be so fun to style with colored socks or tights.
The Row
Eglitta Straight-Leg Corduroy Pants
If you’re beginning to tire of your blue jeans, there’s never been a better time to swap them for some cords—brands have started releasing corduroy versions of their most popular jean silhouettes, most notably The Row and its viral Eglitta Jeans. This particular pair is littering my social feeds right now.

Phoebe Philo Leather Trench Coat (price on request)
Phoebe Philo is designing some of the most coveted items right now, like this leather trench with a matching scarf that can (and frankly, should) be styled as a cape. Kendall Jenner wore a similar but now-sold-out jacket from the brand, and that alone essentially means that capes are so back.
Bottega Veneta
Aviator-Frame Acetate Sunglasses
Acetate aviators are set to the be the It sunglasses of the year if Bottega Veneta has anything to say about it. Its curved-frame pair in classic tortoiseshell feels like a nod to vintage styles from the ’70s.
The Row
Idaho Leather Bag
On the heels of the Margaux bag’s rise to stardom comes an even newer handbag from The Row that I’m starting to hear chatter about among fashion people. Meet the Idaho, an east-west shopper with an artful trapezoid silhouette that, like many items from the brand, is very “if you know, you know.”
Agolde
+ Net Sustain 90’s Pinch Waist Long High-Rise Straight-Leg Organic Jeans
This just in: Agolde’s best-selling ’90s Pinch Waist jeans now come in a long version with an extended hemline that’s ideal for taller figures or anyone who’s seeking a puddle-ankle effect.
Tory Burch has done it again. This top, worn in black by Emily Ratajkowski on the F/W 23 runway, beautifully rebuilds traditional lingerie motifs with an undone attitude.
Christopher Esber
Minette Crystal Flats
Love them or hate them, Christopher Esber’s glove-like mesh flats are the subject of a lot of internet chatter these days. They’re weird, but I love them.
It’s not hard to see that belts have taken a prized spot in the wardrobes of fashion people this season, as designers have elevated the once-boring item to new levels of cool. One such example is Khaite’s Lucca belt, which features an exaggerated buckle that makes such a cool statement.
Ferragamo
Bri Patent-Leather Knee Boots
Everything Ferragamo is doing right now is so good. While I have plenty of its new-season shoes and bags on my wish list, it’s these boots coated in glossy patent leather from the S/S 24 collection that I can’t stop drooling over.
Christopher Esber
Vivenda Draped Cut-Out Dress
Christopher Esber has always had a way of making dresses that are sexy but appear as though not even a sliver of effort was made. If you follow fashion sourcer Gab Waller, you know that the Vivenda dress is near impossible to track down at this point—that’s how beloved it has become.
Ferragamo
Hug Large Embellished Leather Shoulder Bag
Named the Hug because of the embracing effect of its shape, the bag is a modern-day homage to a classic satchel bag and is the first handbag Creative Director Maximilian Davis designed for Ferragamo, so it’s both a nod to the past and a marker of the future.
Fforme
+ Net Sustain Bensi Wool Coat
Paul Helbers, formerly at The Row, is the creative director behind emerging luxury label Fforme, and its minimal silhouettes and serene color palettes are simply irresistible, like this collarless coat that’s effortless yet elegant.
With all things elegant and refined coming into focus this season, it should come as no surprise that long leather gloves are again back on the menu. If I were you, I’d use them to scrunch up the sleeves of a wool coat. Just saying.
Proenza Schouler
Tauba Fringed MacRam Maxi Dress
This macramé fringe dress debuted on Proenza Schouler’s S/S 24 runway, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. The style’s swishy fringes are designed to emphasize movement, and a knitted jersey slip offers a range of creative ways to wear it.
Breitling x Victoria Beckham
Chronomat Automatic 36
When we learned that storied watchmaker Breitling was teaming up with Victoria Beckham to launch a limited-edition watch, we were all ears. The Chronomat Automatic 36 is a harmonious blend of feminine influences from the fashion designer and the masculine influences of Breitling’s timepieces.
Maison Margiela
Midi Skirt
I’m suddenly on the hunt for a sheer skirt to re-create the vibe of the spring runways, and this semi-sheer Margiela style is at the top of the list.
Ducie
Rochelle Shearling Coat
Social media is overflowing with shearling and fur outerwear right now, but no piece is having quite the impact as the coats from London-based Ducie. With its shaggy retro-feeling texture and high neck, the Rochelle coat has made its way to the top of our editors’ wish lists.
Le Monde Beryl
Luna Leather-Trimmed Mesh Ballet Flats
Mesh flats aren’t going anywhere this season. While the designer pairs continue to shine, insiders are turning their attention to French brand Le Monde Beryl, whose mesh ballerinas and Mary Janes are handcrafted for the same premium quality you’d get by spending double. This burgundy pair with a pointed toe is especially forward.
&Daughter
+ Net Sustain Glenn Wool Turtleneck Sweater
I keep hearing the best things about the knits from &Daughter. I’m shocked this scarlet-red turtleneck hasn’t already sold out given the huge popularity of red knits right now.
Ben-Amun
Cornlian Donut Leather Necklace
Everywhere I look, fashion people are swapping their gold chain necklaces for corded styles that feel a tad quirky but still quite elevated, like this Cornlian pendant from NY fave Ben-Amun.
