After launching her first fashion label, Angelina Jolie is stepping into a bigger role in sustainable style this Earth Month.

The Oscar-winning actress and Atelier Jolie founder has joined the advisory board of Another Tomorrow, the B Corp-certified luxury fashion brand launched in 2020 by entrepreneur Vanessa Barboni Hallik. Led by creative director Elizabeth Giardina (who was previously at Proenza Schouler and Derek Lam), the label is known for its elevated essentials (read: quiet luxury) and red carpet-ready pieces — think fitted tees and versatile dresses made of a blend of organic cotton and Tencel, denim made at GOTS-certified organic cotton mills, blouses made from “peace silk” tailored ready-to-wear made of Merino wool and knits made of pre- and post-consumer recycled cashmere.

The brand leads with an ethical approach to manufacturing, “defined by a value system based on three pillars: human, animal and environmental welfare,” per the company. Its “do no harm” ethos means it doesn’t use bovine leather and other animal skins, fur, horn buttons, virgin cashmere or down. Silk is derived from naturally discarded cocoons of organically-fed, fully grown silkmoths and its Merino wool comes from Responsible Wool Standard-certified (RWS) farms.

Another Tomorrow also uses innovative and renewable materials such as seaweed-based seacell and corozo nut-derived buttons, as well as European linen, Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood-based viscose and organic hemp and cotton (which requires less water and doesn’t use pesticides), to name a few.

“One of the biggest changes I’m seeing is that people working in sustainability are finding ways to partner, and I’m joining the Another Tomorrow advisory board because Vanessa is building a different path in this industry,” Jolie says in a statement. “She saw all the shortcomings and roadblocks that have long been accepted as rote, and she is taking them on and modeling how to work differently. To be part of this momentum is exciting to me, and for the outcome to be elevated clothing that comes from a thoughtful and humane supply chain makes it all the more beautiful.”

Jolie is among many A-listers who’ve worn the luxe label. (She previously stepped out in the black Doppio boatneck dress.) Meghan Markle wore Another Tomorrow’s Bow Blouse and Classic Trouser in Fire Red when she delivered the keynote address at the 2022 One Young World Summit in the U.K., and the brand has also been donned by Gwyneth Paltrow, Laura Dern, Jennifer Hudson, Ava DuVernay, Jessica Chastain and others stars.

Another Tomorrow’s founder and Jolie share a history in humanitarianism. The actress and United Nations special envoy is a recipient of the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, while Barboni Hallik is a board member of Harvard’s Carr Center for Human Rights and the nonprofit organization Accountability Counsel.
