Fans of the hit Netflix series “The Crown” can live out their own royal fantasies aboard the 239-foot super-yacht featured in the show. The vessel, called Titania, is available to rent starting at $615,000 per week.
The yacht may not be the star of “The Crown,” but it does feature prominently in the series’ sixth and final season, which focuses on the late Princess Diana.
After divorcing her husband, Prince Charles, in 1996, Diana began spending time with Egyptian film producer Dodi al-Fayed. In 1997, paparazzi photographed the two aboard a 209-foot-long Codecasa super-yacht named Jonikal that belonged to al-Fayed’s family. A few weeks later, both Diana and al-Fayed died in the infamous paparazzi car chase on Aug. 31, 1997.
In the show, several scenes involving Diana (played by actress Elizabeth Debicki) and al-Fayed (played by Khalid Abdalla) take place aboard the yacht. During filming, Titania played the role of Jonikal, which was later renamed Bash.
The yacht was “almost a character in itself,” according to the Netflix publication Tudum.
“The whole schedule was based around the availability of the biggest yacht,” production designer Martin Childs tells the publication.
Travelers can rent the vessel through Burgess, which buys, sells and charters luxury yachts. Originally built in 2006 by Lürssen, the vessel can accommodate up to 12 overnight guests in seven cabins, each with its own en suite bathroom. Titania also has a jacuzzi with a swim-up bar, a sauna, a beauty salon, a massage room, a drop-down movie screen and a fitness center.
A 21-person crew staffs the vessel during each charter. Guests can also use two jet skis, two boat tenders, two sailing dinghies, two stand-up paddleboards, two Seabobs, two kayaks, an e-Foil, surfboards, water skies, inflatable slides, jumping pads and snorkeling and diving gear.
For filming, the show’s crew had to temporarily add furniture and finishes to help give it a late 1990s vibe. But, normally, it features sleek modern decor, with lots of dark wood and marble.
Titania is available for summer cruising in the Mediterranean and winter cruising in the Caribbean and the Bahamas. Rates start at $639,000 in the summer and $615,000 in the winter.
