Since its initial release in 2019, the Porsche Taycan has been one of the most competitive electric vehicles on the market, striking an ideal balance between luxury and performance. For the 2025 model year, Porsche’s all-electric flagship model will receive a redesign, introducing an all-new trim to the Turbo GT lineup. Available in two different versions, the base Turbo GT and the Turbo GT with Weissach Package, the new top-sec trim will take up the mantle of the most powerful production Porsche in history.

Set for delivery as early as Summer 2024, the Taycan Turbo GT raises the bar not only for Porsche but also for the performance and luxury EV segments as a whole. The Stuttgard-based manufacturer has improved the overall size and power of the car’s batteries.

The Turbo GT’s exterior has also been refined to maximize aerodynamics and efficiency, especially with the Weissach Package. Aiming to compete with competitors that were once out of reach, here’s a closer look at the all-new 1,000+ horsepower ’25 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.

In order to give you the most up-to-date and accurate information possible, the data used to compile this article was sourced from Porsche’s manufacturer websites and other authoritative sources, including Car and Driver, and MotorTrend.

2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT: Everything Confirmed So Far

With more than 1,000 horsepower at your disposal, the new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is the most powerful series production Porsche ever.

The Turbo GT Takes The Porsche Taycan To A New Territory

Throughout the Taycan’s history, the electric performance/luxury car has boasted some seriously impressive stats, no matter which trim you look at. For previous model years, the fastest available Taycan came in the form of the Taycan Turbo S, which managed a 0–60 miles per hour time of just 2.6 seconds, with a total power output of 750 horsepower. In 2025, these numbers take a massive step up to 2.3 seconds and 938 horsepower, but more is needed to keep up with the new Turbo GT.

Blistering Electrical Performance

The 2025 Taycan Turbo GT produces a staggering 1019 horsepower (760 kW) and 988 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful production car Porsche has ever produced. Porsche has upgraded the battery capacities to achieve this power, with the Taycan Turbo GT receiving the new 105 kWh battery as standard. As well as increasing the battery capacity, the electric motors also see a decrease in weight.

With all of these upgrades combined, the base Taycan Turbo GT can rocket from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.2 seconds and achieve a top speed of 180 miles per hour. Regarding the Weissach Package trim, the top speed is increased to 190 miles per hour while slightly improving the 0 to 60 miles per hour speed to a mighty 2.1 seconds.

These performance stats are only available with Launch Control, but the standard driving mode’s performance is still more than enough to keep the thrill alive. The standard mode will deliver 777 horsepower, which, although 242 horsepower less, is still more potent than the max output of the 2024 Taycan Turbo S.

Trim-Exclusive ‘Attack Mode’

As opposed to the push-to-pass feature on all other ’25 Taycan models, the top-of-the-range Taycan Turbo GT features the trim-exclusive ‘Attack Mode’, which delivers an extra boost of 160 horsepower if the 1,019 horsepower isn’t enough. The Attack Mode feature doesn’t last too long, only supplying this increase in power for ten seconds.

Still, as the Turbo GT is designed partly for track use (the Weissach Package being fully intended for it), a ten-second burst can significantly improve your lap time around any circuit. Attack Mode has certain requirements to be activated, including more than 30-percent battery charge and a battery temperature greater than 50°F. However, the mode is optimized for lower temperature deployment when driving in Sport and Sport Plus driving modes.

To give you a hint, it costs over three times the price of a base 2025 Porsche Taycan!

Optimized For Aerodynamics

Alongside increasing the overall power to new extremes, the Taycan Turbo GT is also separated from the pack through its extensive aerodynamic features. For the 2024 model year, the top-spec Taycan Turbo S didn’t have much more of a focus on aerodynamics compared to the lower trims, but for 2025, the base Turbo GT model comes with all-new unique aero pieces, but the headline-grabbing Weissach Package trim takes downforce to record-breaking territory.

The Inclusion Of A Gurney Flap And Aeroblades

Keeping on topic with the base model Taycan Turbo GT, the aero package isn’t quite as extreme as the Weissach Package, but it’s still more than enough to make a difference in comparison to the trim below, the Turbo S. The lower trims all feature a similar aero package, albeit being slightly different. The Taycan Turbo GT introduces aeroblades to the front spoiler and new front splitter. This class-exclusive feature is also included on the car’s rear to maximize its potential.

Another feature on the rear of the ’25 Taycan Turbo GT is a gurney flap, which attaches directly to the extending rear spoiler. Gurney flaps are commonly used on racecars, which are renowned for keeping the car stuck to the tarmac through corners and on straights by increasing downforce and reducing drag. Considering the Taycan Turbo GT’s blistering top speed, the edition of a gurney flap can benefit the performance sedan at all moments on the track.

The Weissach Package

While the base Taycan Turbo GT includes some much-welcomed aero-focused editions, the Turbo GT with Weissach Package expectedly takes things to an entirely new realm. The Weissach Package has been an option for Porsche’s recent high-performance gas-powered models, such as the GT2 RS, GT3 RS, and GT4 RS, dramatically improving the overall performance of each model. Combined with the Taycan Turbo GT’s incredible electric power, the Weissach Package has led to the car breaking class records on multiple tracks.

In terms of features, the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package includes the same aeroblade layout that’s applied to the base Taycan Turbo GT. However, the rear of the car is where the difference in downforce is created, with a fixed carbon-weave rear wing attached to the existing lip spoiler.

This gives the Turbo GT with Weissach Package a total downforce of 220 KG per Porsche. Also, the Weissach Package shaves off 165 pounds from the curb weight compared to the base model, thanks to its lightweight construction.

Although the car isn’t available yet, Porsche has recently proved the monstrous capabilities of the highest-spec 2025 Taycan by taking it to some of the world’s most famous tracks. Back in January, Porsche took the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package to the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where it broke the electric sedan track record with a time of 7:07:55. As well as the Nordschleife, the car also recently broke the electric production car record around Laguna Seca with a time of 1:27:87.

It’s not just the overall power improvements and the introduction of the Taycan Turbo GT variants that Porsche will introduce for the 2025 model year; the exterior visuals and interior quality take another step forward.

Regarding the interior, the overall design doesn’t see any significant changes from 2024 but instead updates the existing features found in the 2024 Taycan range. The main focus for 2025 is to improve the Taycan’s interactive technology, introducing a new app with the Apple CarPlay system that allows you to control the climate settings without exiting CarPlay. The base Turbo GT features many different interior trims, but the Weissach Package version only features two GT-exclusive options that add colored accents to the all-black interior.

Changes To The Exterior

Turning to the outside of the 2025 Porsche Taycan Range, the exterior design also retains the overall shape of the 2024 model but tweaks almost every soft part to distinguish the updated 2025 model. These changes are most noticeable on the Turbo GT variants, which is to be expected as they’re all-new. The most notable changes can be found on the car’s front end, updating the position and design of the intakes. New LED lighting can be found on both the front and rear of the redesigned Taycan.

The 2025 Taycan Turbo GT Will Start At $230,000

The entire 2025 Taycan range has seen some slight price increases compared to the 2024 model year, with the Turbo GT variant expected to fetch the highest price that the Taycan has seen thus far. Both the base-level ’25 Taycan Turbo GT and the Turbo GT with Weissach Package will start at $230,000. Despite the Weissach Package’s increased performance, the luxury elements that the Turbo GT retains from the lower trims allow it to share the same price as the record-breaking top-spec Taycan.

The Competition Is Strong

Regarding the models that compete directly with the Porsche Taycan, the Audi RS e-tron GT has been closely matched with the Taycan. The RS e-tron GT is also receiving an update for 2025. In 2024, the RS e-tron GT produced a total of 637 horsepower but started at a lesser $147,000. While the price for the ’25 RS e-tron GT will most likely increase, it’s unlikely that it’ll beat the Taycan Turbo GT’s $230,000 starting price tag.

As well as the RS e-tron GT, Porsche will be turning their attention to luxury performance sedans that have been out of reach in past years, one of these being the Lucid Air Sapphire. With a slightly higher starting price of $249,000 in 2024, the Lucid Air Sapphire is still more powerful with 1,234 horsepower, but the extreme aerodynamic package present with the 2025 Taycan Turbo GT brings it right back into competition when combined with its still-impressive 1,019 horsepower beneath its shell.
