What do Lewis Hamilton, Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas all have in common? All have owned ultra-luxury, multi-million pound Sunseeker yachts. The Dorset-based brand has also appeared in no less than three James Bond films – Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Die Another Day.
But the star-studded vessels are no longer just the preserve of the A-list.
Thanks to taxi app Uber, holidaymakers in Ibiza can now get a glimpse of celebrity luxury by renting an Uber-branded Sunseeker for €200 (£169) per person.
From July 31, tourists on the Balearic islands will be able to pre-order a private, eight-hour yacht trip for up to eight people.
For a €1,600 fixed cost (£1,350) or €200 per person if in a group of eight, the trip includes a personal skipper, a complimentary bottle of champagne, beer and soft drinks, goody bags and a hamper of locally sourced, artisan snacks.
The yacht also features a spacious living room and kitchen that can accommodate eight people, a bedroom with a double bed, an en-suite toilet and shower, and an additional bathroom. And no need to worry about how to get down to the harbour – door-to-door pick-up and drop-offs in an Uber Black van are also included.
Departing from Ibiza marina every day at noon, there are five routes on offer in the new experience, from exploring the crystal waters of Formentera to sunsets at the legendary rock of Es Vedrà.
Ibiza attracts around 800,000 British tourists a year. Known for being the world’s clubbing capital, it is also one of the most expensive holiday destinations in Europe.
Last year, Uber also launched Uber Boat in Mykonos, Greece, which has now expanded to Athens, Corfu and Santorini.

“Whether it’s sailing around Ibiza in your own private yacht or experiencing the Venetian lagoon by boat, we’re thrilled to add some Uber magic to our customers’ holidays this summer.”
Uber Yacht will be available to pre-book via Uber Reserve in Ibiza a minimum of 48 hours in advance, between August 3-17.
