This year marks the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival, the world’s most prestigious film gathering. The star-studded event attracts Hollywood’s elite for a week of premieres that set the pulse for the cinematic community. On the red carpet, top celebrities have been bringing their A-game in terms of style, down to each and every accessory—especially their watches. Here are seven of the best timepieces we’ve seen at the festival so far.

  • Adam Driver in the Piaget Polo Date

Adam Driver has been one to watch ever since he secured the role of Kylo Ren in the Star Wars franchise back in 2015. For the Cannes Film festival, the actor joined his fellow castmates and iconic director Francis Ford Coppola for the debut of the dystopian drama Megalopolis. Here, Driver took to the red carpet in one of the hottest watches on the market: the

. This is the year of Piaget. The brand is notching its monumental 150th anniversary and the 45th anniversary of the Polo collection, so the choice is only fitting. Driver choose a particularly sophisticated variation with a 42mm rose gold build with a chocolate brown dial and alligator strap.

  • Chris Hemsworth in the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 116505 ‘Meteorite’

Chris Hemsworth has been killing his red carpet style this year, recently appearing sleek and stylish at the annual Met Gala. Here, the Hollywood heartthrob opted for a sophisticated and slightly understated iteration of Chopard’s Alpine Eagle with a rose gold build and just a touch of bling on the diamond bezel, but for Cannes, he took things to the next level. For the screening of his new film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and the surrounding events at the festival, Hemsworth has been spotted in a slew of different timepieces, including a fully iced out version of the Chopard Alpine Eagle, a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5990/1R Travel Time, an AP Royal Oak Double Balanced Openworked 15407BC in 18k frosted white gold, and two different Daytonas: one in platinum with diamonds and this meteorite dial edition. Stone dials are all the rage right now, so this particular variation of the Daytona seems fitting for the occasion.

  • Barry Keoghan in the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M in Sedna Gold

Barry Keoghan has also caught attention on this year’s red carpets for his keen sense of style. Keoghan has proven to be a true collector, sporting watches from countless brands, but it’s clear he has a favorite: Omega. The actor also attended the recent Met Gala, wearing not one, not two, but three different Omega models, including two wristwatches and a rare stainless ‘Staybrite’ steel pocket watch with two-tone dial from the 1930s. For Cannes, he pulled out all the stops again with one watch: the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M in Sedna Gold. This fully gem-set model is fit for the south of France with a diamond dial and bezel and just the right pop of color on the ruby indices and red strap.

  • Hon Chau in the Hublot Classic Fusion Titanium

Hon Chau is also one to watch, receiving Golden Globe and Oscar nominations for supporting actress in the 2018 film Downsizing and the 2023 film The Whale. This year, she took to the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of her newest movie Kinds of Kindness alongside castmates Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons. She hit the festival in style, sporting a gorgeous and highly feminine model from Hublot. The Classic Fusion Titanium is the perfect watch for the south of France with a lightweight construction, sleek white dial and strap as well as just the right touch of sparkle with the diamond bezel.

  • Kevin Costner in the Chopard L.U.C XPS

Kevin Costner made a major comeback at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, debuting his new western Horizon: An American Saga, marking his first directorial effort in over a decade. The premiere received a standing ovation and left Costner emotional, with five of his kids in the audience to share the experience with him. Thanks to Chopard, the official partner of the Cannes Film Festival since 1998, Costner looked particularly dapper for the occasion. The brand fitted him with its L.U.C XPS. The slim yet substantial 40mm dress watch brought the perfect touch of elegance to the annual Trophee Chopard Ceremony. In addition, the actor opted for an equally handsome tonneau shaped model from Chopard for his film’s screening.

  • Francis Ford Coppola in the F.P. Journe FFC

Francis Ford Coppola needs no introduction. He’s been a leading figure in Hollywood since the 1960s and is widely considered one of the greatest directors of all time. No stranger to the Cannes Film Festival, notching his first Palme d’Or back in 1974 for his movie The Conversation. However, the debut of Megalopolis marks the first film from Coppola in 13 years. For this milestone return to the cinematic scene, Coppola sported his collaboratively designed, nakesake watch with F.P. Journe: the FFC. The watch, which indicates the time with a mechanical hand, was the brainchild of Coppola and Journe thanks to a dinner back in 2012. Here, Coppola proposed the idea of representing time on the five fingers of a hand, the way the ancients used to count the hours. In typical fashion, Journe immediately took to the challenge. The complication ultimately took nine years to bring to life, and it only seems fitting that Coppola would proudly sport the watch for his film’s premiere.

  • Nicolas Cage in the Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Yellow Neon Saxem

Nicolas Cage is also having a comeback moment at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Here, the acclaimed actor soaked in a whopping six-minute standing ovation after the premiere of his new trippy psychological thriller The Surfer. Cage choose the absolute perfect watch to embody the spirit of the film, an ultra bold and colorful model from Hublot. The Big Bang Tourbillon Yellow Neon Saxem. Saxem, or Sapphire Aluminum-Oxide and Rare Earth Mineral, is a new approach to the brand’s use of sapphire for its watches, giving the material the wild coloring we see in this iteration of the iconic Big Bang (as well as some other wildly colored models). The result is shiny, transparent, and tough—the ideal combination of form and function.
