“A breath of fresh air for luxury RV living.” These are some of the words used to describe Fleetwood RV’s 2024 Frontier GTX, the towering and luscious machine you see before you. Pack your bags, and let’s explore North America in what could be yet another milestone for this manufacturer.

Well, with the new year upon us, this manufacturer has taken all their previous models and doused them from head to toe in features and luxuries designed to please the eye, steal your heart, and have you dishing out at least $428,792 (€399,500 at current exchange rates) for the least expensive of the two available GTX floor plans.
Now, as I mentioned, this Class A machine is designed for those of us who want to do everything on the road, and that means quite a lot, six pages worth of features a lot. This means that we have to approach the Frontier GTX from a different angle, one that places you in the center of the action.
I want you to imagine that you’ve shown up to your dealership with a duffle bag full of cash and a few more bags full of clothes and utensils you need on your trip; your family is right there behind you. You drop the bag, your GTX dealer checks it, gives an approving nod to a helper, and you’re handed a set of keys. You shake hands and climb aboard. Had you going there for a minute with some ‘movie’ tension and all of it going down south, but this is a family experience, so none of that. Maybe some mosquito hunting, at best.

From here, you’ll need to take some time to load up your GTX with everything you brought along for your adventure. To do so, there are countless exterior bays to choose from, or if it’s something that requires interior storage, there’s plenty inside, too. With all that out of the way, fire up the Cummins B6.7 diesel engine and listen to 360 possible ponies just waiting to be unleashed. They can crank out 800 lb-ft of torque, which is definitely necessary, considering that a GTX can come in with a GCWR of 43,600 lbs (19,776 kg). This also means that, yes, you can hitch a trailer up to this bad boy. Why not make it another camper or travel trailer and let the kids have their own home? Oh, you want to bring along a toy garage? Go for it!
One important aspect to note regarding the driving experience is that this Class A motorhome is a luxury one. This means that there are countless systems aimed at your comfort, safety, and overall experience. Not only is an air suspension going to keep everything from spilling over as you drive, but there’s a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), BrakeSync, and countless others in place, not to mention those plush seats waiting for a driver and passenger.
After you make it to your destination, you won’t even need to stretch your legs. Just swivel those two front seats around and start to roam into your home. If this is the place you’re going to call home for the next few days, why not whip out those slide-outs and show off your mobile mansion?

Now, the GTX isn’t necessarily the sort of unit that’s designed to fit extended families, but rather, those that are smaller and always on the move and want to do so in luxury and utter comfort. For example, the 39TA floor plan reserves over a third of a GTX for nothing more than a massive bedroom and ensuite bathroom and closets. The rest is reserved for living, entertainment, and some light work. A modular sofa raises the sleeping capacity to four.
As for the 37RT, this unit can accommodate up to six guests, made possible by the addition of a modular dinette, but the rear reduces the walk-around space in the bedroom for a king bed, and the ensuite bathroom is now a massive walk-in closet, or optionally, a workspace; just let Fleetwood know what you need. The rest of these babies are decked out with porcelain flooring, electric fireplaces, washer and dryers, and more features than my own land-locked home has to offer.
But, the real pièce de résistance is the fact that you can pick up and move your wheeled home whenever you’d like, assuming you don’t end up parked on the side of some road. Better yet, Fleetwood took the time to include countless features aimed at off-grid and on-the-move living. There’s a generator, water accumulation and filtration systems, solar panels, and batteries; what more could you want?
