Jaipur: A woman narrowly escaped falling from her scooter after a man allegedly snatched her gold chain from behind in Durgapura market Friday afternoon. The accused then ran back where an accomplice was waiting on a motorcycle and fled. CCTV footage of the crime has surfaced.The incident took place around 4.30pm when Mona Jain was waiting on her scooter outside a shop while her husband Ravi Jain (40) of Sanganer, had gone to a medical store.

According to police, two men arrived on a motorcycle and stopped some distance away. One walked up to Mona, snatched the chain from her neck and ran back to the motorcycle. The force of the snatching nearly caused her to fall.On hearing her cries, people chased the accused, but he fled with his accomplice. Ravi later lodged a complaint with Bajaj Nagar police. Police alerted checkpoints but could not trace the suspects.CCTV cameras installed around the market captured the incident. Police are examining the footage and searching for the two men.
