Works on Εlounda Hills Tourism Project Kick Off

Mirum Hellas announced over the weekend, the launch of works on a 202-berth marina, the first project of the ambitious Elounda Hills mega tourism investment on Crete.

The marina, to be managed by Camper & Nicholsons Marinas and slated to launch operations in 2026, received approval in 2020.

“Today we start the construction of my dream, a life project, Elounda Hills,” said Mirum Group owner, Vitaliy Borisov, adding that the project will be implemented with “absolute respect for the environment, with the highest standards and will be equivalent to the unique landscape of Crete”.

Budgeted at 25 million euros, the aim of the marina project, which has repeatedly faced delays, is to attract yachting enthusiasts who have until now napproached the marinas of neighboring countries, said Borisov. The new marina will be able to cater to mega yachts and to evolve into a marine tourism hub.

In a recorded message, Greek Labor Minister Adonis Georgiadis said the investment will create many new jobs and contribute to the upgrade of Crete’s tourism product.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Development Minister Maximos Senetakis said the marina would establish Elounda and Crete as a global yachting destination.

Elounda Hills is Mirum’s largest project in Greece. In total, the tourism and real estate project is expected to cost 800 million euros.

The first phase of the investment will include the marina located 40 minutes from Heraklion Airport, the creation of two luxury hotels, 31 branded apartments, two non-branded villas, and 80 non-branded residential units available for sale or lease. A 137-room hotel, 66 branded villas and 81 branded apartments will form the central core of the project. The second hotel will be developed near the marina.
