Zcash (ZEC) Price Nears Major Breakout as $500 Liquidity Zone Comes Back Into Focus

After experiencing a significant sell-off, the bulls are trying hard to initiate a strong rebound as the Zcash price advances towards the resistance. It is heading towards a critical juncture, compressing within a decisive pattern, which could result in a major volatility expansion. At the same time, the liquidation heatmap data reveals significant clusters of leveraged positions on both sides. This indicates the next breakout could be amplified by cascading liquidations. 

With the price trading just below a key resistance zone, traders are now watching whether the bulls could push the rally above $500.

Symmetrical Triangle Puts ZEC at a Critical Juncture

Zcash (ZEC) price continues to trade within a symmetrical triangle, reflecting a period of price compression. Since March, it has established a series of higher lows, while repeated rejections near the $500–$540 resistance region have formed lower highs. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has slipped below its signal line, indicating weakening bullish momentum without confirming a bearish reversal. Meanwhile, the CMF has turned negative, pointing to mild capital outflows as traders await confirmation of the next directional move.

From a price structure perspective, the $463 support remains the most important level for bulls to defend. Holding above this zone keeps the ascending trendline intact and preserves the broader bullish structure. On the upside, a breakout above the descending trendline and the $500 resistance could invalidate the recent series of lower highs. Further, it may expose the next resistance near $540, with the longer-term target around $738 remaining intact.

Liquidation Clusters Point to High-Volatility Zones

The 24-hour liquidation heatmap reveals where leveraged positions are heavily concentrated, hinting where price could move next once volatility returns. The heatmap shows significant liquidation clusters between $498 and $514, indicating a dense concentration of short positions above the current market price. 

If ZEC price manages to break above the triangle resistance and reclaim the $500 level, these clusters could be triggered in succession. This could force short sellers to cover their positions, potentially accelerating the rally through a short squeeze.

On the downside, notable liquidity pockets are concentrated around $475 and $466, just below the ascending trendline support. A breakdown below these levels could trigger long liquidations. Adding further selling pressure increases the likelihood of a move toward lower support zones.

Zcash (ZEC) price is trading at a pivotal stage, compressing just below the $500 resistance while maintaining support above $463. At the same time, the liquidation heatmap shows dense liquidity clusters between $498 and $514 on the upside and around $475 and $466 on the downside.

Rather than signaling a clear bullish or bearish bias, the current setup points to rising volatility, making the reaction around these levels more significant than the breakout itself.
