As a key part of Samsung’s $55 billion overall investment in Central Texas, the project received a $250 million grant from the 2023 Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund. The company expects the new plant to begin mass production in 2030, upping its output of memory chips used in everything from mobile devices to artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
