A$AP Rocky is no stranger to designer clothes, luxury collaborations, fashion shows, or anything that has to do with putting a fit together.
In the Harlem rapper’s latest interview with Complex, he spoke on who are some of the best-dressed rappers of all time, obviously excluding himself.
He began with rap legend Grand Puba. Puba is known for wearing a selection of pieces from designers such as Tommy Hilfiger. Next up on Rocky’s list was Kanye West. He almost needs no explanation but the rapper previously had a collaboration with Adidas where he created his popular sneaker line called Yeezys. Prior to Yeezys he interned with Louis Vuitton and has been dubbed the nickname “Louis Vuitton don.” Lastly, Rocky named Pharrell Williams. The producer is now the Louis Vuitton menswear creative director after the death of Virgil Abloh.
As for Rocky’s new fashion takeover, he has been named the creative director for Puma x F1.
“I have always loved motorsports from a distance and the chance to work with Puma and F1 felt like the best way to disrupt the category,” Rocky told Complex. “I’m eager to explore the impact that streetwear and fashion can play beyond the track.”
Rocky will be in charge of in-person activations like the one coming up in Vegas, visuals for the collection, and designing apparel and accessories. This collaboration aims for fans to form a tighter “connection to their favorite drivers” and use those pieces in their everyday lives.
A$AP Rocky’s Upcoming Music
As for music, Rocky has been teasing a new album since the beginning of the year. “It’s finished and we just putting the finishing touches on it. It’s coming for sure,” he promised earlier this year, per HipHopDx. “I think we all need time for growth.”
There has not been a recent update on the album as of yet.
