Fancy’s Fish House has closed, and a new concept is in the works for the restaurant space at 1 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Downtown Memphis.
“As we reflect on Carlisle’s investments in Downtown Memphis — from The Landing Residences, Hyatt Centric, and Caption by Hyatt, to the recently introduced Amelia Gene’s — we have made the decision to reimagine the space of Fancy’s Fish House to more appropriately respond to the desires of our neighbors and visitors,” said Chance Carlisle of Carlisle Corp. in a statement. “As of Tuesday, November 28, we will suspend operations of Fancy’s Fish House and look forward to sharing plans for a new concept in the new year.”
Fancy’s Fish House opened in April 2022 and was one of the first concepts to open at the One Beale development.
The restaurant was known for its fresh daily caught fish dishes served in a dining room with a casual, old Florida fish house vibe.
The 5,600-square-foot restaurant space is one of the only Memphis restaurant locations with a view of the Mississippi River. There is a 2,000-square-foot outdoor patio adjacent to the dining room.
