Lexus has made matters more powerful, speedy, and spectacular with the announcement of the new LY680 Luxury Yacht. The successor of the tad bit smaller LY650 model is 68 feet long and accommodates 15 people and has six beds. Unveiled at the Japan International Boat Show 2024, the luxury yacht grabbed attention for its impressive 2,700 horses on the high seas that will be built by the team at Horizon Group in Asia. With the notion, ‘a hideout in the middle of the sea, providing a space where discerning customers can feel free and at ease,’ this craft underwent specific changes to make their ethos a reality.
To begin with, the swimming platform and flybridge were expanded to accommodate more guests on deck. The renewed flybridge now features a spacious lounge area with a barbecue grill for groups and families to enjoy together.
Those with only relaxation on their agenda can head to the swimming platform which has been expanded by 700mm. Lexus LY680 is not a superyacht but it is a superb yacht nonetheless with a respectable 19-foot beam, decor by Italian design powerhouse Nuvolari Lenard.
Guests can unwind in the three cabins on the lower deck and enjoy conversations in a light-filled salon on the main deck. For scrumptious meals, the luxury yacht includes a galley and helm station on the main deck. The overall vibe of the vessel is relaxed with a cozy kidney-shaped sofa nestled in one corner, a plush seat opposite it, and panoramic windows that make the space seem bigger.
The designers have added a touch of luxe by using materials like dark, varnished wood. People who are interested in the Lexus LY680 will have to fork over about $5.1 million for the boat powered by a pair of 12.8-liter turbocharged Volvo D13 engines capable of delivering 1,350 hp each to IPS drives. Per Lexus, orders are being accepted exclusively in Japan through Toyota Marine sales offices with the first hulls expected to be delivered in 2026.
