Luxury yacht builder Oceanco is giving the world another peek into its Simply Custom Collection by revealing the first renderings of two new 262-foot (80-meter) superyachts built on their proven naval platform christened Storm and Portofino.

These new design proposals have both been penned by H2 Yacht Design, a UK-based design studio with 30 years of experience in the field, and will join the recently unveiled Clarity superyacht, an innovative project from Espen Øino International that combines modern elegance and cutting-edge technology.

Oceano’s Simply Custom yacht range, initially presented during last year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, comprises no less than 17 superyachts. The Dutch yard’s idea with this unique collection was to provide world-renowned designers with a solid technical foundation on which they could build tailored solutions for different lifestyle needs and yachting preferences. This way, they also offer clients a new type of customizable superyacht and a simplified and more streamlined approach to yacht design.

The new proposals for the Collection are both stunning projects and would serve just well to strengthen Oceano’s reputation as one of the world’s leaders in the world of luxury yachts.

The Storm yacht concept is a sleek, sporty watercraft that takes inspiration from the automotive world, while Portofino is designed to blend modern elements with the “timeless” elegance of classic yachts.

Talking about the Storm, H2 Yacht Design’s founder and creative director Jonny Horsfield has said it boasts “an aggressive and sleek design that combines the elegant, flowing lines of a timeless Bentley coupe with a tapering aft end, giving that sense of speed and elegance from a bygone era.”

The renderings show a striking yacht with a streamlined exterior profile characterized by long flowing lines, a waterfront beach club that opens out on two sides, a large swimming pool flanked by sunpads, and an elongated bow that houses a helipad.

Portofino, on the other hand, has a more timeless aesthetic, having been named to “reflect the same classic, elegant style epitomized by this enigmatic Italian fishing village.” Its sculpted superstructure with tapered decks does evoke classic designs of the past, but the yacht is spotted with modern details like the flared bow, the dramatically shaped transom, and the long lines of glazing. Unlike Storm, this yacht will have a main deck pool with access to the beach club below.

According to Jonny Horsfield, both conceptual designs are flexible enough and can be customized to cater to the needs of any discerning client. They will offer spacious guest areas spanning five decks and will be configured with an owner’s stateroom on the upper deck and six guest cabins on the main deck.

All the yachts in the Simply Custom series will have a gross tonnage of around 2,500-2,700 GT and will feature highly optimized and efficient hulls designed by Lateral Naval Architects.
