Early morning non-custodial Bitcoin wallet Ordinals Wallet X account was hacked after hackers started posting phishing tweets on it .
The creator of Ordinals Wallet, Randy posted on X “@ORDINALSWALLET TWITTER ACCOUNT JUST GOT PHISHED AND SUCCESSFULLY HACKED. DO NOT LISTEN TO ANYTHING IT POSTS.”

The phishing tweets posted, “It’s finally here. The $ORDI token is now officially live. All Ordinals Wallet users are eligible to claim a piece of $ORDI’s initial supply. Holding $ORDI will grant access to all of our future beta programs.”

Hackers resort to phishing tweets from X accounts as a part of their social engineering attack tactics leading to the authorization of malicious apps.

Phishing attacks have been on rise. Recently, Web3 security firm Scam Sniffer, reported that around 10,800 victims were impacted by phishing attacks in September alone, with the biggest loss being recorded September 28, when a phishing attack using a permit phishing signature resulted in 12,083 spWETH worth $32.43 million.

Apart from Ordinals Wallet attack, another hacking incident was reported by Scam Sniffer today wherein hackers stole $35 million worth of fwdETH and sold them, which triggered a big drop in fwdETH’s value.
