Otherside’s Project Dragon will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest FPS battle, with more than 1,000 participants expected to take part.

The event, set to begin at 12 PM EST on February 22, will be hosted within the Otherside platform and requires participants to access it through Google Chrome.

The attempt is part of an ongoing effort to push the boundaries of large-scale multiplayer gaming.

What is Project Dragon?

Project Dragon is a fast-paced, action-packed NFT game set in the Otherside metaverse.

Designed in the style of Call of Duty, it challenges players to complete objectives whilst defending their rewards amid intense battles. The game features an arsenal of weapons, including guns and explosives, adding to its high-energy combat experience.

The game is built on the Otherside Development Kit (ODK), a platform that enables creators to develop and monetize immersive 3D games with integrated storytelling and social features.

How to participate in the event?

The event is open to everyone with no NFTs required, and those looking to join can set up in advance through the official launch site.

Participants will engage in a large-scale FPS match, though specific gameplay mechanics have not been disclosed. Large-scale online battles often encounter technical difficulties, including server overloads and latency issues. With over 1,000 players expected, Otherside will need to ensure network stability and maintain smooth gameplay.

Previous attempts at massive multiplayer events have faced similar challenges, making this an ambitious undertaking, and whether this will be a successful attempt is yet to be seen.
